The Team

Paul Cassedy

paul.jpgPaul is an 18 year old currently based out of San Diego, when he is not living out of a car. He did his first race last September in Big Bear, CA with Team Barely Legal, which was one of only 9 finishing teams. Paul also enjoys climbing, slack-lining, waves and yoga. He and his friends are always looking to invent new and exciting things to do. He is always looking for an adventure and one day aspires to sail away.

Erica Krimmel

pb230101.JPG Erica Krimmel, 19, is a student at UC Santa Cruz, where she is majoring in Environmental Studies. She completed her first adventure race at age 17, and has since done a 5-day expedition race, three 24-hr races and numerous shorter ones. In May 2006 Erica and Little Dan completed the first unsupported mountain biking of the San Diego Sea to Sea Trail, from the Pacific Ocean to the Salton Sea. In addition to adventure racing, Erica is on the UCSC Cycling Team and she enjoys organizing things in her free time.

Daniel Staudigel

He is a full-time physics student at UCSB, and adventure races, explores the outdoors, and programs (yes, computers!) in his copious free time. In the summer of 2005 he participated in a pack-rafting expedition to the Cirque of the Unclimbables in the Northwest Territories. He has been racing as frequently as his pocketbook allowed since he was 17. His first race was the 2004 Gold Rush 24 Hour Race in Northern California. Since then, he has done 3 more 24 hour races, and a few short-course races. He recently took up collegiate MTB racing, competing at Boggs Mountain in the Bay Area.

Dan Youmans

He completed his first race, the 2004 Gold Rush, at age 14 and has since then done three other 24 hour races and numerous sprints. He enjoys any adventure and loves to surf (larger waves preferred). In May of 2006, Little Dan and Erica completed the first unsupported mountain biking of the cross county trail, from the Pacific Ocean to the Salton Sea. He is greatly looking forward to upcoming freedom after high school.
